Dub Cave [Torino] è l’evento promosso da 4Weed Music con l’intento di diffondere la cultura del sound system come mezzo di espressione, aggregazione e ribellione al sistema capitalistico e autoritario nel quale viviamo.
Dub Cave promuove artisti locali e di volta in volta ospiti italiani e internazionali con l’idea di creare connessioni forti e valorizzare il talento di chi spinge questa musica dal basso, in modalità indipendente e libera dalle dinamiche del mainstream.
Djs, selectors, live set and performance, singers, passando dal roots al dub, dal digital a sonorità elettroniche più sperimentali, tutto amplificato da un sound system autocostruito per un tipo di serata che mira ad essere sia intrattenimento che messaggio di rivalsa e positività.
La Dub Cave sarà all’interno del Csoa Gabrio, nella sala “underground” in Via Millio 42, Torino.
Per il secondo appuntamento ospite speciale Instrument of Jah (UK), fondato da Patrick Anselm nel 2009 e che in soli 5 anni è arrivatoad essere considerato tra i migliori sound emergenti della fervida scena inglese. IOJ è già resident sound del famoso One Love Festival ed è già stato più volte ospite dell’ University of Dub suonando con Aba Shanti I e con i migliori sound inglesi ed europei. Ha all’attivo session Francia, Italia (ospite di Mountain Top), Svezia, Scozia e Galles. IOJ è anche una label la cui prima produzione vede alla voce la singer Amelia Harmony e al mix Murray Man al Mellow Vibes Studio. La militanza e l’esperienza di Patrick Anselm nel sound system business è di lunga data e la sua dub box bella carica e pronta per infuocare ogni massive, il 28 febbraio IOJ a Torino per farvi ballare fino al mattino.
Ad amplificare la serata sarà un sound che ha fatto la storia della dub music in Italia, Echotronix sound system (ex King David Warriors), la cui potenza, pulizia di suono e ricercatezza nelle selezioni è già un marchio di fabbrica, con all’attivo il primo vinile targato Echotronix records andato praticamente a ruba in europa e nel mondo, “Reconquering Lion”, un anthem da più di 10 anni suonato dai migliori selectors e dj del genere.
A rappresentare 4Weed Records ci saranno:
Rootikal Dub Foundation, collettivo torinese da anni punto di riferimento della scena dub, si particolarizza per le sopraffine selezioni uk dub e le produzioni incisive, tra cui “Roots Fanatics Remix” e “It’s time to change” in arrivo su 12″ 4W Records.
Al microfono MrDill Lion Warriah, singer / mc eclettico e versatile nello stile, riesce ad esprimersi al meglio dal roots al digital allo stepper sfornando sempre liriche intelligenti, ha un ottima attitudine al freestyle e all’intrattenimento dal vivo, da anni al fianco dei migliori selectors italiani e con numerose serate in europa tra cui l’Unod 2014 e il Notting Hill Carnival.
Campanile, direttamente da Blackstarline crew, specializzato in selezioni heavy stepper, si distingue per la ricercatezza nella scelta delle tune, dal 2014 curatore della sezione 4Weed podcasts.
Una serata da non perdere per gli amanti della reggae e dub music, per chi vuole ascoltare sonorità sperimentali (urban dub), confrontarsi con i numerosi dub addicted presenti in session e supportare realtà indipendenti come 4Weed Records e un luogo storico, fondamentale per la crescita culturale di Torino, il Csoa Gabrio.

Back in the days of early sound system in Europe, King David Warriors pioneered the scene with their own system introducing Italy and European crowd to this art and playing with many of the legendary sounds like Jah Shaka, Jah Tubbys, Channel One, Aba Shanti, Iration Steppas etc introducing them to Italy for the first times. They had montly residencies in Torino, Milano and Rome and foster the scene with the well-known Roots Attack sessions. In 2005 after 350 gigs they decided to takea pause and close the sound to dedicate themselves to the musical production. Now after 7 years the fruits of this work of love are ready to be released on Echotronix label. A collaboration with The Roots Defender band and legendary singer like Johnny Clarke, Michael Prophet, Dixie Peach just to name a few.Together with the label the crew is launching his brand new Sound System, the Echotronix Hi Power Sound System, ready to put on fire again the hottest yards.

In the dub/reggae scene since 2003, as a singer he opened sessions for Aba Shanti I, Channel One, Russ D, Fatman Hi Fi (singing in combination with Daddy Fatman), Jah Shaka, Word Sound & Power, Gussie P.
He performed on the mic with Jah Observer, Ras Muffet, Jah Free, Zion Train, many of the top italian sound systems (Linea di Massa,Dread Lion Hi Fi, Dubass, Echotronix, Bababoom Hi Fi, Blackstatline, Moa Anbessa, Rootikal Dub Foundation, Mystical Powa, Bandolero Movement) and in combination with the great Uk singer YT.
He worked with producers like Dubmatix, Dub Creator, Dan I, Resistence in Dub, Pressure Dub Sound, Lab Frequency, Dub All Sense, Vodoo Tapes, Wicked Dub Division, Krak In Dub, Dziga and many more to mention.
He’s been one of the first italian singers performing at Notting Hill Carnival of London in 2010, hosted by Jah Observer Sound System longsideNever Get Burn Crew.
In 2011 at ‘Way To Ras’ (italian sound system meeting in Rome), and in 2013 at the first italian Dub Clash at ‘Zion Station Festival’ on the mic with Linea Di Massa Sound System. In 2014 at “UNOD” the most important Dub Festival worldwide in Prestatyn (Wales).
He also appeared in several editions of the italian Rototom Sunsplash Festival, both in the Dancehall Area and the Dub Station.
He played in Europe with Dubass sound system (Belgium), High Station Sound (Cyprus), with Dread Lion Hi Fi at Dubquake session in Geneva promoted by OBF.
With his own unique style, blend of roots, rub-a-dub and stepper style, his always on the scene performing in sound system sessions or on the stage with live bands, Djs and selectors.

Rootikal Dub Foudation è un progetto che nasce circa 7 anni fa. Diversi dj, selecters e producers gia precedentemente impegnati in diversi progetti musicali si riuniscono sotto questo nome per dar vita a una crew con lo scopo di promuovere e diffondere roots e dub music. Nel corso degli anni RDF comincia a suonare nella propria città e anche in giro per l’Italia (milano , bologna , parma , roma etc..). Nel 2008 insieme ad altre crew e sound torinesi formano il collettivo Never Get Burn, atto a promuovere la reggae music e la sound system culture nella citta torinese. Nel corso di questi anni hanno il privilegio di condividere serate con artisti del calibro di : Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti-I, Channel One, Diciples & Jonah Dan, Iration Steppas, Zion Train, Gussie p & Earl 16, Fatman sound, Ras Muffet, Idren Natural, Jah Voice, Word Sound and Power e Jah Observer. Quest’ultimo dopo la serata del 2009 a Torino invita il collettivo Never Get Burn a suonare al Notting Hill Carnival , esperienza che si rivelerà unica e di grande insegnamento.
Spesso ospiti di Kumina Beat , trasmissione di Radio Blackout, che promuove e sostiene la roots e dub music. Tra il 2010 e l’inizio del 2011 RDF, insieme all’etichetta indipendente 4Weed Records e Radio Blackout, da vita a una compilation benefit per la radio (Dub Blackout) , raccogliendo tracce musicali con sonorita dub-dubstep di diversi artisti italiani sparsi per la penisola. Progetti futuri vedono la crew impegnata come sempre a promuovere la cultura reggae in tutte le sue forme.
